It happened at 3.30 a.m. on the 12th of May, at the Urbanization Urbanización Villapiedra, Orihuela Costa. Two Local Police patrols arrived when the emergencies centre 112 warned about a robbery a woman had suffered in the said urbanization. The victim, a 67 years old Irish woman residing in Orihuela Costa, as explained by her and other four women accompanying her, had been accosted by four men who snatched her bag, hurting her and causing her slight injuries to that aim. The five women had just gone out from a leisure centre and the robbery happened just when they were far from it. While a Local Police patrol waited with the woman for an ambulance to come and pick the victim up, another patrol started searching in the surroundings and found near the place of the robbery four men whose description corresponded to the thieves. Later on, the witnesses who could see the arrested men during the arrest, mentioned they were in fact the thieves. They were four Moroccan men of age 26, 23, 22 and 19, residing in Pilar de la Horadada, who were arrested by the Orihuela’s Local Police and taken before the Guardia Civil of Pilar de la Horadada for an assumed robbery crime and injuries caused to the victim.
