Michael on 26 February, 2010 11:09:00 The cultural week organized by the Cultural Andalusian Association of Torrevieja started last Monday. A cultural week which started with an exhibition of Andalusia’s typical gastronomy. Typical Andalusian dishes from places such as Cordoba, Seville, Malaga or Jaén, which are being exhibited these days at the association’s seat, located at Valencia Número 10. Through this exhibition the association started its cultural week, which will end next Saturday, February 28, in the great Andalusia's day. This peculiar exhibition shows a total of 12 delicious dishes and desserts typical from Andalusia. Among them we can find the famous Granada’s pestiños, a traditional recipe with Moorish origins. Through this exhibition we will find out about typical dishes of the province of Jaén, all of which share a common element: the exceptional oil coming from this land. From Jaén we can taste the sobreusa spinachs or the roscós de sartén, typical handmade sweets ate in Easter. Directly from Córdoba’s cuisine comes the bull’s meat, the traditional salmorejo or the tasty flamenquines, cooked with jamón serrano and rolled with pork’s loin, coated with breadcrumbs and finally fried. From Malaga, we will try fish dishes such as the pescaito al bien me sabe. From Almería, the carnerete de bacalao. From Huelva, habas con choco; and from Seville, its delicious a la flamenca eggs, which would only need to sing and dance a sevillana.
