ASdTorrevieja Information - tourist guide: FCTorreGolf at Las Colinas FCTorreGolf at Las Colinas ================================================================================ A. Michael on 26 July, 2010 09:55:00 A new season, and our first visit to the new course Las Colinas and what a great day! To celebrate, firstly we had prizes totalling over €100, weather has to be said was a little warm but a course that lead up to all its expectations and how our members enjoyed it all. The course was exceptional, great condition, great greens, bunkers unfortunately in wrong positions ( my view, because I found them all), enough water to get you into trouble, fairways that were undulating and at times made us think we were back at St.Andrews. Some holes that allowed you to do things that maybe you wouldn’t at others like the 2nd where you could let the driver have its say, likewise on the 6th , where great views may be taken in. The 7th, a par 3 from an elevated tee position some 100 meters above you and trees all around. Here 3 of our group all made par with one getting nearest the pin, so it went on, with many more holes that one could comment on but in the end it has to be said this course caters for every type of golfer well done to Troon Golf and course designer Cabel B.Robinson. Just as well everyone had course planners on the day, and BUGGIES with ice buckets and water, because it can be a very long walk. We will be back, sooner than later. Now, results for the day. Maybe because our members had not played here before scores were (except one!!) considered to be low. Our format was a Stableford competition on the day with an overall 1-4 winners, 3 catagories with 1st and 2nd places and 3 nearest the pins. Nearest the pin hole 7 Malcolm Harrison, hole 10 Trevor Hodgson, hole 14 Mick Gossage Best Guest, now a signed up member, Ray Pollock. Category 1. 1st. Mick Gossage 2nd. David Rae Category 2. 1st. Karen Matthews 2nd. Keith Mann Category 3. 1st. Brian Monty 2nd. Bob Minnican And finally, overall, in 4th. place Keith Mann 30 points, 3rd. place David Rae, 2nd. place Karen Matthews, on count back, 32 points and guess what, that man again at the top of the tree Mick Gossage with 41 points well done Mick but you are now severely cut and will now play off 14.5 starting at our next venue which will be El Plantio, our home course, Tuesday 10th.August. Enjoy your football at the VG Stadium courtesy of your winning season ticket. So if you want to join our increasing members, support our football team F.C.Torrevieja through our association with FCTorryFans have a great time with plenty of fun on and off the course, like our Caribbean Party Night on the 3rd.
