ASdTorrevieja Information - tourist guide: Inauguration of “Las Cuatro Estaciones” Park Inauguration of “Las Cuatro Estaciones” Park ================================================================================ A, Michael on 27 July, 2010 11:07:00 This park is located at the urbanization La Torreta, just by the bungalows “Patricia” and next to “Las Culturas” school. This square has been the object of certain controversy among different communities living in the area -such as the Spanish, the British, the Nordics, etc.-, who, claiming that this was a common area, they blamed each other for the deterioration of the same. The city councillors for Parks and Gardens and Foreign Citizenship, Eduardo Gil and Pedro Valero, met with the representatives of all confronted communities and settled the controversy by offering the Council’s help to offer material to be recycled coming from the reinstatement of works. The British couple Kevin and Christine, who happen not to live in the area, offered themselves to direct the works. Over 25,000 bricks were scraped, cleaned and washed by them and other neighbours so that, for 6 hours a day, 6 days of the week and 6 months hard work, this last Friday the park could finally be inaugurated. The design of this square has been respectful with the existing flora and the typical pigeon house built during the 80’, and has been furnished with banks and children amenities. After all people invited could witness the band cutting and a short lunch, they could celebrate with joy having saved one side of our town which had fallen into oblivion.
