Friday July 30 may be hot and steamy but if you want to make the most of your
evening, there are couple of hot spots you certainly won’t wish to miss.

With the influx of tens of thousands of visitors about the descend on the city,
from Saturday the city is comically referred to as Playas del Madrid with an
estimated 100,000 expected to swell the number of tourists and parking becoming
a nightmare for those that need to.
And speaking of car parks, at 2000-hrs at the Marina Salinas, Torrevieja’s
newest sports harbour, the July edition of Noche del Coche shall be taking
place. This popular event attracts over thirty cars of all descriptions from
classic through tuning, American Muscle to Italian Exotic, with even the odd
Mini, Anglia, London Taxi and Rolls Royce thrown in for good measure. This month
they also hope to have Spain’s longest limousine on display, a stretched Ford
Excursion, which at 30-metres long is one of the longest cars in Europe! Where
is shall be parked remains to be seen! Noche del Coche is from 2000-hrs until
around 2130 when the majority of cars go on a cruise through town.
Entrance for participating cars and bikes is free and all visitors are welcome
to freely stroll around the cars and enjoy a cool libation at one of the cafes

For those seeking a little culture on a Friday night, at 2300-hrs the closing
night of Torrevieja’s largest cultural event, the 56th Habaneras Festival
takes place at Eras de la Sal at the far end of the Vista Alegre. The final
night is more a night of showpieces and a full house is expected, so if you are
fortunate, nip down to the municipal box office and pick up a couple of tickets
to enjoy an event that is internationally respected and watched on National TV
around Spain on La 2. Torrevieja TV also streams it live. For more information

The temperatures may be rising but as the sun drops and cool breezes blow
through town, it’s a perfect opportunity to put on your walking shoes and see
another side of what Torrevieja has to offer.
