ASdTorrevieja Information - tourist guide: The Spanish Cycle Race comes to Orihuela The Spanish Cycle Race comes to Orihuela ================================================================================ A, Michael on 06 August, 2010 10:37:00 Next 3 September, the Spanish Cycle Race will come through the city of Orihuela and the Vega Baja’s region. Orihuela will be the major city during the seventh stage of the Spanish Cycle Race. Cyclists will go through the very same town centre, all along the most emblematic and nicest streets of Orihuela: Avenida Duque de Tamames, Avenida Teodomiro, Calle José Antonio, Calderón de la Barca, Calle Loaces, Alfonso XIII and calle Pintor Agrasot. In total, over 14 towns in the Vega Baja’s region will be a part of the route in this Cycle Race, which will have its finishing line at Avenida Marqués de Molins, in Orihuela. The towns visited by the race will be: Jacarilla, Benejúzar, Algorfa, Benijófar, Rojales, Formentera del Segura, Almoradí, Dolores, Catral, Redován, Albatera, Callosa del Segura, Cox and Granja de Rocamora. When the seventh stage is finished in Orihuela, the winner will wear a jersey which will be, for the first time, red-coloured, in order to honour the success the Spanish sports have been having in the late times. At the Avenida de Teodomiro and the Gabriel Miro square there will be a leisure and show area for all hundreds of people coming to see the cycle race.
