History of Torrevieja
The town of Torrevieja was founded administratively on 3rd March 1803 when King Charles IV decreed the removal of the administration of the Royal Salt Works from La Mata to the new area of Torre-viexa....
Gastronomy
Amongst Torrevieja's many attractions as a Mediterranean tourist centre, is its superb gastronomy, which nowadays combines traditional dishes with "new cuisine", and which can be found in most of the town's restaurants....
Habaneras
The name of Torrevieja is inextricably associated with its International Habaneras and Polyphonic Competition which takes place towards the end of July in the area of the Eras de la Sal, the cathedral of the Habaneras....

The town has three Post Offices, the main one at 55, Caballero de Rodas street....
Traditions
Torrevieja still retains, in spite of its spectacular growth in population, many of its traditions, from the popular singing of Habaneras in family celebrations to the visiting of the La Mata pinewoods at Easter time....

The restaurant LUZMAR, location and outlook is marvelous, The staff are friendly and helpful .
