Salt craftwork

This is by far the most surprising aspect of Torreviejan culture.

As the salt works form part of the culture of Torrevieja, so also our craft has salt as its common factor. A salt boat is made on wood covered with white cloth interlaced with white thread to form the sails.

When the period of "setting" comes in the salt works around the months of May and June, the model is placed inside the salt for around three days and comes out completely crystallised in salt.
