10 NEW LOCAL POLICEMEN TOOK OVER LAST MONDAY MORNING

At the end of this year the Local Police will have a staff of 224 officers

Last Monday, August, 1st, ten new Local Police officers took over on the meeting room of the Torrevieja town hall. With this, the total number of police officers amounts to 194.

The ten new officers -five women and five men- have joined their call of duty today after having overcome all the relevant tests.

The Mayor of Torrevieja, Pedro Hernández Mateo has announced that along this year 30 new local police posts will be filled within the public offer of the Torrevieja town hall so at the end of 2005 the total amount of officers will be 224. The Mayor has pointed out the enormous effort that the town hall corporation have been making for the last years to duplicate the number of the city local police force, which along the present year will be increased in 49 officers.
