40 EL MUSICAL, THE SONGS OF YOUR LIFE

On Stage in Torrevieja this week is the musical spectacular ’40 El Musical’, a celebration of music that make up the songs of your life, or for the Spanish, at least! Saying that many of the songs in the show were hits in both the British Isles and Spain, so not only is the show entertaining but also educational and guaranteed to leave you with a feel good factor and at the end of the night plus you’ll probably know more about the Charts and popular Spanish music scene, than you ever did before!

Last week, Torrevieja’s Councillor for Culture Luis Maria Pizana, and CEO of Drive Entertainment , José María Camara, presented the program for ‘40 The Musical’, which will be performed in the Municipal Theatre from 18 to 21 August. A proven hit show, it has been seen by more than 550,000 spectators around Spain and, although they say so themselves, it is a great musical format and for all audiences, containing songs and snippets of more than 100 current and classic hits that have been No. 1 in Top 40, in a show that features 40 actors, dancers and live musicians.

There is music from Alejandro Sanz, Miguel Bose, Camilo Sesto, Bad Romance, Lady Gaga and even more recent music you will recognise such as “I’ve gotta feeling” from the Black Eyed Peas. The songs are woven into a fun storyline that chronicles the lives of a group of young people who tell their stories of friendship, loyalty, love, emotion and humour, through song. And while the show in Spanish, I’m sure you’ll be able to follow along no matter what your level of Spanish happens to be.

Luis Marie Pizana explained that after the successful performance of ‘Chicago’ in Torrevieja, the Department of Culture has decided to “bet again on a great musical, which has proved to be so successful in Madrid and Barcelona.”

The standard ticket price of 45 and 55 euros, can be purchased at the normal channels of ServiCAM and the theatre box office, Municipal Auditorium Torrevieja but there are alo discounts available for those under the age of 26, retired, pensioners and the disabled for the early evening shows on the 19, 20 and 21 August with other early bird discounts available.
