On Tuesday 1 April the AIM association residents action group held a dinner dance at the La Marina Sports Complex to raise funds for the La Marina Youth Club to help them pay their bills.

It had come to the attention of the AIM association committee that the Youth Club organisers were very concerned about the electricity and water bills, also about the dangerous condition of windows that have recently been smashed by mindless vandals. They decide to organise this fund raiser to help them. One hundred and twenty people attended, including the Mayoress of San Fulgencio Trinidad Martinez and all the town hall councillors. A two course dinner and entertainment, provided free by the popular Bella Luna Spanish duo, Rhythm of the night disco along with local favourite solo singer Sandra, was enjoyed by all. From the proceeds of ticket sales and a raffle the amount raised was  over 600 Euros. La Marina Youth Club is based on the premises belonging to the church in calle Justo Antoinio Quesada. The local parish priest Jose Luis Robledano Navarro was in attendance and accepted the money raised on behalf of the Youth Club.
