President Camps inaugurates Torrevieja new PROP centre and the San Luis Health Clinic

Torrevieja continues to grow and now stands as the fifth largest city in the Valencian Province, a fact that has never escaped the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Francisco Camps, who visited the city last week to inaugurate two new facilities; the PROP office and San Luis Health Centre.

Amongst high security levels, Torrevieja’s Mayor Pedro Hernández Mateo greeted everyone and following the blessing from Father Ginés Ortiz, the Parish Priest of the ‘Sagrado Corazón de Jesús’ Church, Presient Camps officially unveiled the presentation plaque, in the company of the President of the Diputación Provincial de Alicante, José Joaquín Ripoll, Provincial Deputy, Domingo, Mayoress of Orihuela, Mónica Lorente and hundreds of onlookers.

The PROP centre is located at nº6, Calle Bazan, just to the side of the church and close to the Town Hall, received an investment of 68,663 euros and houses the Department of Information and General Register of the City Council. has eleven Civil Servants, an information desk, an official for SPAI Jove (for young people) along with other technical facilities.

After touring the complex and meeting members of staff and the general public, Mr Camps, Mr Ripoll and Mr Hernández Mateo, went on to inaugurate the new Health Centre, San Luis/La Siesta, which received a total investment of over three million euros before continuing on to the ‘Auditorio-Conservatorio Internacional de Música’, which is being built with an investment of almost thirty-eight million euros. Mr Camps said that he is “delighted with the ambitious projects, taking place within Torrevieja” and commended the Mayor for his part in the management of their successful completion. He looked forward to returning to the Music Conservatory to inaugurate it, in the near future.
