A man dies while he was sunbathing in Playa Flamenca

The victim fainted to a short distance from the shore, when the water did not reach yet his waist.

This Playa Flamenca accident made the lifeguard go immediately after him and, after rescuing him, he started the resuscitation tasks on the sand, as it was explained by the Red Cross. The man was applied a fifteen minutes heart massage. The Urgent Medical Assistance Service (SAMU) started with the same manoeuvres but with no success. The SAMU doctor could only certify the man’s death.

The facts occurred at about 11,30 a.m., when the sea was quiet and there was a green flag, as the same Red Cross sources affirmed, who were in charge of the surveillance of the beach.
