Alicante, capital of performing arts

From November 8th - 16th, Alicante will be transformed into a giant stage for dozens of theatrical productions.

On Friday 7th November, the 16th Exhibition of Contemporary Spanish Theatre will be underway in Alicante. The festival runs until November 16th, giving you the chance to discover contemporary playwrights and, of course, their work. This year, the event will be paying tribute to Jesús Campos.

The festival begins at the Arniches Theatre with 2.24, a disconcerting epistolary play portraying a journey crossing the boundaries between sanity and delirium. Then, on Saturday at 6 p.m., Lo Morant Park will be transformed into a stage for the cast of Éxodo , followed later on by Antígona 18100-7 performed at the University of Alicante Audtiorium. And to bring Saturday's theatrical repertoire to a close, Sol@nte el peligro will be performed at midnight in the Clan Cabaret bar.

On Sunday, a team of explorers will arrive at the Panoramis Centre to present their latest discoveries, Meganimals, at 6 p.m. A few hours later, the play Días sin nada will bring the weekend's theatre to a close. Over eight days, dozens of plays and theatrical representations will be performed at a large number of different venues, making Alicante the capital of performing arts.
