Don’t be alone for chirstmas in Torrevieja

The inscription term will remain open up to October 30th.

The inscription term to incorporate into the program "Don’t be alone for Christmas" in Torrevieja has already been opened; this program intends to offer some company during the Christmas time to the elderly who are living alone.  

The program is aimed to elderly people who are living alone and do not have a possibility to spend the Christmas days with the company of their family or friends because they are living away or for any other reason. However, couples, marriages, groups or friends or the may not benefit from this program.

The place chose this year will be Gandía (Valencia), the Hotel Oasis Gandía Palace and Hotel Principal, the days between the 23rd and the 27th of December.

The services offered include, among others, full board with the possibility of a diet menu for those people needing it, free transport from the place of residence of people travelling, entertainment activities, cultural activities, talks on health, physical education, sports and gymnastics activities, two trips to the towns nearby and finally board games, balls, and so on.

The requirements to enjoy of this Program are: to be residing in the Community of Valencia; be above 65 or receive a pension for invalidity, retirement or a widow’s pension if older than 60; not to suffer any kind of conduct disorder which might affect the life together inside a collective residential centre; to be able to manage on one’s own, and to be living alone without any possibility to meet with relatives or friends due to their distance or otherwise.

The applications will be processed by the Social Welfare teams (equipos de Bienestar Social) in the Town Hall of Torrevieja up to the 30th of October.
