A unique week of classic car shows

With four displays over eight days, it’s a superb opportunity to participate or view the cars on show.

For custom and classic car aficionados, with the end of the month in sight, you might need to adjust your mind set, as in September, local events take place outside the usual, expected order of activities. Events start this Sunday, September 25 at the Lakeside Commercial Centre Torrevieja, outside Da Vinci’s Bistro with the Sunday Drivers Club from 11.00 until 13.00-hrs, which becomes the first event on the calendar for the month. As with all local ‘show and shine’ events, everyone who owns a classic, custom, future classic, rare or just interesting, car, van. Bike or trike is welcome to bring along their pride and joy for fellow enthusiasts and the general public to enjoy. Entrance for everyone is always ‘free’.

The following weekend, a one off occasion occurs, with events all weekend, starting with Noche del Coche outside Da Vinci’s from 1900-hrs, Catral Custom and Classic at the Meriol Garage in Catral on Saturday October 1 and Ace Café in Los Montesinos at the La Torre Hotel on Sunday. The Catral event starts at 1800 and while most cars have left by time darkness falls at 2030, for those stay for dinner or a drink, at 2200, live on stage are a the excellent rock-a-billy band The Redtops, a six-piece band, reminiscent of the Stray Cats, who put on an excellent show.
