CD Montesinos’ unbeaten run is now eight matches after this entertaining 1-3 away win at Almoradi ‘B’. The game was somewhat ruined by the strong wind, but the visitors always looked the stronger of the two sides, with Macan, once again, causing the home defence all sorts of problems.

Week in week out CD Montesinos create and go on to miss countless chances, and this week was certainly no different; but they did manage the breakthrough towards the end of the first half. Skipper, Sanchez, stroked the ball in after a corner kick was only half cleared by the home side.
With a score line of 0-1 at half time, it looked odds on for ‘MONTE’ to go on to score more, and so it proved. However, everything did not go according to plan as Almoradi levelled the score 10 minutes into the second half.

Monte manager, Juanpe, substituted Dimitry for another attacker, Edu, and it was he who put ‘Monte’ back in front midway through the second period. With ten minutes left on the clock, ‘Monte’ scored their third goal as MA ran through and beat the home keeper to the delight of the 70 or so travelling supporters, including a large following from their Internacional supporters’ Club ‘The Full Monte’.

This latest victory keeps CD Montesinos in the top group of clubs, and next Sunday they entertain Callosa Deportiva in a home fixture which kicks off at 4pm.
