Another win for CD Montesinos

CD Montesinos continued their excellent start to the season with another win, 2-0 home against Thader ‘B’ from Rojales. But Monte had to wait until the second half for their goals, which eventually came through a Dimitry header and a late penalty from Andres, who had a superb game throughout.

With regular goal keeper Cubano suspended after being sent off last week, the young Lopez came on and was never troubled as the Monte defence held firm. Despite dominating the first 45 minutes, Montesinos failed to find the all important break through, even though they hit the wood work on a number of occasions and the visitors had their goalkeeper to thank for keeping them in the game.

The second 45 minutes were going the same way. Montesinos missing chances whilst Thader played on the break. But the inevitable breakthrough came after 65 minutes, when defender Dimitry headed home from a corner, much to the delight of the home supporters including the ever growing international supporters’ club, ‘The Full Monte’.

With time running out, Macan, who had been given the bottle of Cava for his ‘Man of the Match’ performance last week, took on the visiting defence and was pulled down in the area. The resulting penalty which the young Andres (I) calmly tucked away for his side’s second goal, meant three more points to CD Montesinos, giving them three wins and two draws from their five matches this season.
