BIG SUCCESS OF THE THIRD STORY WRITING COMPETITION IN ENGLISH -TORREVIEJA ANOTHER LOOK-
126 works have been presented, 105 works have come via the web site www.torrevieja.com, and the other 21 by post of hended in at the Internacional Resident Customer Municipal Office.
Most Works presented were from Spain (86), United Kingdom (22), U.S.A. (3), India (2), Scotland (2), Nepal (2), etc.The Foreigners Councillor of the Town Hall of Torrevieja, María Dolores Canales, together to the responsable of the Internacional Resident Customer Municipal Office, Mr. Graham Knight, and the director of the Torrevieja.com web site, have given the statistics of this III Edition of Story Writing Competition in English “Torrevieja, Another Look” which inscription date expired last 30th of April. María Dolores Canales also informed that 126 works have been presented for this third edition, many of them of an excellent literary quality.
Likewise, María Dolores Canales has pointed that 105 works have been presented via the web site www.torrevieja.com, 21 by post of handed in at the Internacional Resident Customer Municipal Office. She also said that works came from 15 different countries, 86 from Spain, 22 from the United Kingdom, 3 from the U.S.A., 2 from India, 2 from Scotland, 2 from Nepal, etc.
The Foreigners Councillor also said that 70 works have been presented in the “Free subject category”, and 56 works in the “Torrevieja subject” category.
NOVELTIES WITH REGARD TO THE SECOND EDITION.
Among the existing novelties in this the third edition of this short story writing competition, it is important to point out the creation of a second category, the “Free subject” category, as well as the rise in the amount of the prizes (1.500 euros in prizes) and the number of prizes, from 3 to 6 prizes. The Jury’s verdict will be to public knowledge in an event organized to this end on the 31st of May, at 19:00h at the Palace of the Music, when we will know who the winners are. Afterwords there will be drinks for everyone as well as a free copy for everyone.
The Instituto Municipal de Cultura “Joaquín Chapaprieta Torregrosa” will print 1000 books with the stories winners of this competition, as well as a selection of the best works which have been presented, all in all 33 works.
The Foreigners and Culture Councils of the Town Hall of Torrevieja, with the cooperation of the Internet website www.torrevieja.com, on the purpose of counting on the vision of Torrevieja from the point of view of residents and foreign visitors, launched the International Story Writing Competition in English “Another Look” in September 2004, which main aim is to encourage both residents and foreign visitors to be part of Torrevieja culture as for reflecting the personal view these people may have of this the city they have chosen to live in.
