COMMENCEMENT OF PATRON FESTIVITIES IN HONOR TO THE VIRGIN OF ROSARIO DE TORRELAMATA IN TORREVIEJA

From September 23 until October 7, multiple playful and religious acts are held in the district of Torrelamata.

One more year, the patron festivities are celebrated in the district of Torrelamata in honor to the Virgin of Rosario, in fondness and the devotion of the whole village towards their patron, the manifestations are intensely evident during these days.

In this big week for the materos, all the visitors are invited to participate and amuse themselves with activities for big and small.

The holidays begin on Saturday, the 22nd with the traditional dinner "sobaquillo" that will be held at 22hours. in the social polyvalent center.

Among the religious acts, from September 27 until October 5 the “ solemn novenario will be celebrated in honor to Our Lady of Rosario ”, where different priests of parishes of nearby villages, will offer every day a mass directed to different groups of the district. This mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m.. On Sunday, the 23rd, a contest of paellas starts at 11 a.m. in the square of the pier, where they will be able to inform all those who wish it. Later, a bingo of gifts will be celebrated for children and adults.

On Saturday, the 29th a horse race will be held at 13.00h in open area placed near to the channel, and at night, the appearance of Sara García Gil as queen of the holidays 2007 in the traditional verbena of the casks, in which one invites all the visitors to try the wine of Torrelamata.

The floral gift to the Virgin of Rosario, will cover the streets of Torrelamata on Sunday, the 30th from 6 p.m.. Already on Saturday, the 6th of October, at 3 p.m. a popular paella will be offered to all the assistants in the square of Embodiment Puchol (opposite to the Church) and at 5 p.m. a parade ofl chariots and disguises accompanied by the orchestra.
