Elche Orphanage Petanca Competition

On Sunday, 5th February, petanca players from nine countries met together at Rocajuna pistes to raise money for the orphanage at Elche.

The competition was fierce, the food was tasty, the sun shone and the printer refused to work! Something had to go wrong but it did not affect the enjoyment of the day.
Graham Knight presented a donation of 780€ to Annette English (EMAUS) with our best wishes to the children who came for a short time to spectate. Maybe some time they can come and play?
Then Graham Knight and Gina Marks (Sol TV) presented  medals and prizes to the winners. Third was Kelvin Radford and Pat Wenban from the Bandidos, second was Guy Fernandez and Julien Van Buggenoot from  Amigos Belgas and first was Francis (Paco) Lopez and Alan (Pepinio) Liabue from Rocajuna. We wish to thank everyone who donated prizes, medals, food and especially their time. Congratulations to all the competitors and we look forward to seeing you all next year.
