F.C.TORREVIEJA Golf Society

Our first outing after the festivities and a day of changes.

1.    Weather, when we left Torrevieja was thick fog all the way as far as San Javier, then clear sunny skies, GREAT!  But no, after 2 hours of play, RAIN, and then guess what, SUNSHINE  which leads me onto the the other change.
2.    Yes, Paul Hurrell playing golf, middle winter and wearing shorts, how stupid is that, but, alas he had the last laugh because 2 hours into our game we had temperatures not far off middle summer!
However, depleted numbers enjoyed the day, course in excellent condition though a little wet under foot and greens lightning fast and as usual we had the fisherman amongst us spending more time retrieving balls, that hitting them!
Our Stableford Competition showed some good scores with our retired Vulcan Bomber Pilot, Jim Miller, knowing where to drop his ball, winning on a countback from Mick Gossage, and both on 37 points.
3rd. Derek Phillips 31 points   and 4th. Phil Brigham.
Our next venue is back to El Plantio 26th.January where we have a rate of 45 Euros including buggy.
