The bomb was very damaged and it was composed of 300 grams of gunpowder.

During the renovation works in a hotel in Torrevieja, Hotel Cano, a plumber has found in the drainpipes of the building a bomb which was placed 17 years ago by the Spanish terrorist gang “ETA” and which was not found at that time because it was “too hidden” even though the building had been searched from top to bottom.

By that time, there happened 3 ETA bomb alerts in Torrevieja. One of the bombs was placed at the Hotel Cano, but this one was never found and it also never exploded. At the present time, the hotel is being renovated and it has been one of the workers who found the bomb. It is about a small bomb which is very damaged due to time passed since then, and it was placed in the drainpipes.

Bomb specialist agents of the Guardia Civil helped by trained dogs could take the bomb away. This happened during the early evening of Thursday at the Hotel Cano, located at the Zoa street, in Torrevieja.
