Grants for top sportsmen and women
The Council has supported Torrevieja’s top sports by investing 25,000 Euros.
The Torrevieja’s Councillor, Pedro Hernández Mateo, together with the Councillor for Sports, Daniel Plaza Montero, has handed over different grants to top sportsmen and women for the 2008-09’ season. This time, 14 sportsmen and women have been awarded due to their achievements during last season as under the evaluation carried out by the Evaluation Council for the application of its own rules, which issued the corresponding report.Depending on the sport achievement and of the merits they presented, four categories were established which were matched to the grants received by each sportsman and woman. This is the way all efforts and work our Torrevieja’s athletes have made, who are at the top better positions in the national and international fields and have taken our city’s name throughout the world, have been awarded.
