An out of service Guardia Civil agent arrests the author of a knocking down who tried to escape

The man arrested, of German nationality, was holding a gun, which he used to threaten the agent.

The Torrevieja’s Guardia Civil has arrested a 70-year-old German man accused of an alleged threat crime as well as an injury offence.

An out of service Guardia Civil agent was driving his car when he observed traffic had stopped and there were many people surrounding two persons who seemed to be arguing; thus, the agent came near them to find out a knocking down had just taken place, the author of which was shouting and reproaching the person he had just knocked down.

The driver, instead of adopting a conciliation attitude and assisting the person injured, was arguing with the same and pushing to leave the place, so the Guardia Civil agent identified himself immediately and demanded the man to get out of his car and explain what had just happened. It was then when he took his gun and threatened to make use of it, but the agent struggled with him and took it away from him. Several Guardia Civil patrols arrived at that very moment and took charge of the situation: they arrested the man and took him to the headquarters to start criminal proceedings.

At the same time, the person who had been knocked down was taken to a health centre, where all his injuries - of slight nature- were taken care of.
