Programme of events relating to the "CITY OF MURCIA - HISTORY RE-ENACTED" event which takes place over the weekend of 14 / 15 / 16 October in the city centre of Murcia.
The event, organised in conjunction with the City of Murcia, is presented by the Spanish "CODEX BELIX association, a Madrid based group who present spectacular re-enactments of historical battles. The attached programme outlines the principal events of the weekend and the itinerary.

However, on SUNDAY 16th October, the 'BRITISH EX-SERVICE MEN'S ASSOCIATIONS' (RBL, RNA, RMA, and RAFA), with branches in Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa and surrounding areas, have again been invited to participate in this special and spectacular event.
Four buses will leave from Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa and Cuidad Quesada on the Sunday morning to transport around 200 members of the British military associations. They will be honoured guests at the static displays as well as principal participants in the spectacular military parade which commences from 10.30 on Sunday 16th.

Whilst the "TORREVIEJA PIPES & DRUMS"  will play a principal role in leading the military parade through central streets of Murcia on the Sunday morning, over 100 British veteran's, led by the standards of the various associations, will march through the provincial capital to the Avenida Teniente Floresta alongside the river, accompanied by veteran's of the Spanish armed forces and other nationalities. The veteran's will also be offered prime seats from which to enjoy the impressive re-enactment of "Operation Market Garden" (the battle which led to the liberation of Holland in 1944 during the 2nd world war) which commences at around 13.00h. The volunteers of the CODEX BELIX association who present these spectacular displays throughout the Spanish mainland, boast authentic uniforms of the era as well as some 30 military vehicles pertinent to the presentation and even parachutists descending from the skies.
