HYPERMARKETS AND COMMERCIAL CENTRES IN TORREVIEJA

The Local Green Party assure that the PP Local Political Party will give the go-ahead to the setting up of all kind of large supermarkets and hypermarkets.

The Municipal Green Party confirm on the press that " the Mayor of Torrevieja and his Political Party (PP) is processing the passing of a modification to the P.G.O.U. in order to give the go-ahead to the setting up of all kind of large supermarkets, hypermarkets as well as other kind of commercial areas and centres in the Torrevieja Municipal Area".

According to the Municipal Green Political Party, this would mean "to give the coup de grâce to the local medium and small shops which is going through an awfully bad selling time, one of the worst in its history, due to the ferocious competition made by large supermarkets and commercial centres, as well as to the lack of interest of the local authorities to help to solve the situation".

The Municipal Green Party at the opposition state that they are going to set out their disagreement to this proposal.
