International day of the Pork in Torrelamata

This event, organized by the Association -Friends of the Pork-, is tasting of large amounts of pork, bread, celery, beer and wine Torrelamata.
On the occasion of the feast of San Antonio Abad, every year celebrate the International Day of the Pork, which will distribute more than 700 kg of pork among all participants.

This festival brings together people coming from many towns in the Vega Baja tourists as well as German, English and Scandinavians.

The meaning of this “International Day of the Pork” is to remember the lost tradition of killing the pork in order to fill the stock of food.
The hospitality of the people from La Mata is proved with the celebration of events like this one where the stomach gets full of free and good food.

People of all nationalities enjoy the taste of products made in La Mata, like bread, wine, beer, celery, beans in a joyful atmosphere. The celebration will take place in the main square in La Mata, a special outdoor "dining room" where many people from everywhere, from any country can enjoy the excellent pork.

The hams are only maintained to be raffled to raise funds for the upcoming celebrations of this special event organized by the Association "Friends of pork", La Mata.
