Local artists exhibition -Encounters-

Last Sunday morning, Torrevieja’s Mayor Eduardo Dolon, accompanied by Counciler of Culture, Luis Maria Pizana, and Representitive for Provincial Tourism and Deputy Mayor Joaquin Albaladejo , inaugurated an exhibition by local artists entitled "Encuentros" in the Exhibition Hall of the Cultural Center "Virgen del Carmen". The exhibition is a high quality presentation featuring 20 works by young, local artists: Olga Parra, Alberto Velazquez, Valentín Rojas, Elizabeth Herrero, Aitor Alonso, Elena Vidal and Carlos Vera.

Entry to the exhibition is free and can be viewed during normal opening hours of the centre. It features different techniques and styles such as oil on canvas, watercolors, spray and pen, ink on paper, acrylic on canvas, pencil on paper and spray painting, graffitti style. The mayor congratulated the young local artists for the high quality of their work and highlighted the good work of the Municipal School of Painting.This group exhibition will remain open until the 28th of October.

I have been to visit it. It is really amazing. Good quality nearly for all of them.There is not a big choice but for me, apart three paintings, all of them has a good level, even if sometimes religious subjects seams to be quite naive. But this choice can be made by the artists to please the local authorities without beeing necessarely their inspirations.
