Torrevieja May fair 2010

The 2010 May Fair will be celebrated from the 5th to the 9th of May.

on Wednesday 5th, Torrevieja’s May Fair will be inaugurated, usually around 2100-hrs, with a firework display and the symbolic switching on of lights, which opens the Fair proper. Entrance to the Fair Ground is free although tickets are required for the seated area. If you have not visited the Fair before, put it in your diary now, as this is one of the most colourful fiestas in Torrevieja and includes a display of horses and carriages on Saturday and Sunday, singing and dancing each evening (be warned it starts late!) food, food, food and a libation or two. Don’t miss it and make sure you take your camera to capture this most colourful of events, second only to the Ferias in Andalusia itself, in size and spectacle.

Wednesday, May 5
- Fair inauguration and lightening at 9.00 p.m.
- Performance of Agustina Esteve and Paya’s academies.

Thursday, May 6
- "los Chichos" concert at 11.00 p.m. Free entry.

Friday, May 7
- 10.00 p.m.  María Dolores Morales and Escuela Municipal de Danza –the local dance school directed by Nuria Girona- academies performance.
- 11.00 p.m. Manuel Fernandez “El Torero” and its dance group.

Saturday, May 8
- 11.00 p.m. “La Negra” Concert.

Sunday, May 9
- 11.00 p.m. May Fair 2010 Conclusion with the concert by the Alba Rociera choir of the May Fair Association
