ONE OF THE FOUR HOUSINGS IS BOUGHT BY EXTRANJEROS

The province of Alicante gathers more than 70 % of the real estate deals of non national citizens inside the Valencian Community.

The buying and selling of housings for foreign persons in the province is from 675 million euros to the trimester, of them next to billion euros in these operations that are realized in the Valencian Community, by the Foundation “Ceimigra” reflecting the year 2007 « Migration in an unequal world », presented recently by the Foundation Ceimigra, and financed by Bancaja and the Immigration Counsilship.

The yearbook, which gathers information of the Department of Housing during the last trimester of 2006, extracts that they sold in the Community more than 7.200 housings to foreigners, of which 4.700 correspond to the province of Alicante that is, a major movement of real estate operations on the part that immigrants generate, much ahead of Valencia, registering 1.600 deals of this type, and of Castellón, with 746.

It supposes that next to 70 % of the whole of the real estate deals of foreigners in the Valencian Community they take place in the province of Alicante, which concentrates 55 % of all the resident foreigners on the autonomic territory. Alicante, also, is the province with foreigners' major proportion of the country, with next to 390.000 citizens of other countries, which supposes 20 % on the entire population. Of them, slightly more than the half of inhabitants comes from countries of the European Union.

Of the whole of 4.763 housings that were an object of deal, the big majority they corresponded to free housing and only 44 to protected housing. Equally, of the global number of buying and selling of housings, 1.977 were housings of new construction (41 %) and 2.766 corresponded to second hand houses (58 %). Inside the entire real estate deals of the province-17.103 during the last trimester of last year-, the ones that were carried out by persons of other countries meant more than 25 % all of deals, for what one of the four operations of this type were realized by foreign residents, and one of every five in the Community. Other of the information that is gathered in the yearbook of resident foreigners in Spain shows a preference from Alicante localities and ads that 18 % of the foreign population of the whole Spain chooses this province to buy housing, ahead of others as Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia.
