OPENING OF THE NEW CENTRE OF THE ALZHEIMER ASSOCIATION.

The new centre is built over 400 square metres

The Mayor of Torrevieja, Pedro Hernández Mateo, and the President of the Alzheimer Association, Tomás Ballester, opened the new Day Centre of the Alzheimer Association, last 23rd of March. This new centre is located by the old RENFE train station, next to the Salt Industry Centre.

This centre is built on a plot given by the Town Hall of Torrevieja, and occupies a ground of almost 400 square metres. The budget of the restoration of the old RENFE engine shed has come up to 326.000 euros.

In the few years this association is running, it has made a great effort towards all the Alzheimer patients and it has given support to their families. Nowadays, the present centre deal with 30 patients and there are another 35 home visits made almost every day. Once the new centre will be already running, it will be no problem to assist over a hundred patients.
