Poll: Gin-tonic & Cocktail tour
What would you like to try in the "Gin-tonic&Cocktail tour"?
Mr and Miss World living on your doorstep!
Maybe it’s something in the air, the Mediterranean diet, the temperate weather or just life on the beach!
Whatever the answer is, it’s certainly paying dividends as the Iberian peninsula can boast not one but two world titles this year; Mr and Miss World. Most of us can remember the heyday of the Miss World competitions and a few may still remember that a certain George Best enjoyed the company of more than one of them! Last week the 2010 title went to Kaiane Aldorino from Gibraltar but even if an estimated 12,000 or so people cross over from Spain daily to work and many more to visit Gibraltar, it’s still not, at least for the time being, Spain. But so much for Miss Spain, there are other, possibly more important crowns to be had!
Along the coast, living in Costa Blanca’s most multicultural city, is a certain torrevejense gentleman, a 27-year old professional model called Pedro Enrique Garcia, the current Mr. World! Somehow, the majority of the English Press seem to have more or less missed the fact that one of the city’s own, was crowned Mr. World in Peru this Halloween, where he won the title by beating off 45 participating countries for the title of Mr. World 2009.
Pedro already holds the titles of Mr. Alicante 2007 and 2008 and was a runner up in this year’s Mr. Spain. The kudos associated with being Mr. World have already attracted the TV news teams from around Spain and we talked with him after he was interviewed by TVE last week on Torrevieja’s Vista Alegre. Now that he has been voted the handsomest man in the world he hopes to break into a different world, that of television presenting and also more international modelling assignments.
Although he may be recognized as the most handsome man in the world, presently he’s unattached, single and available, although he didn’t say if was looking or not! Certainly Pedro Enrique Garcia has the looks and talent to make it big on the International modelling scene and possibly as a host on those splashy Spanish Summer specials. Remember the name and be proud of the fact that he’s from our little town of Torrevieja.
And for those of you that fancy a little bit of glamour, there shall be a free introduction to modelling and information about being a film extra, the expectations, questions and answers from representatives from the Alicante Modelling Agency and Costa Blanca TV on January 24th at the Punta Prima Restaurant in Torrevieja at 1100 am. Call Sue 966 493 370 for more information. Sorry to say, we can’t guarantee that Pedro shall be there!
