PEDRO HERNÁNDEZ MATEO TAKES UP THE POST OF MAYOR OF TORREVIEJA FOR THE 6TH TIME IN A ROW.

The Mayor begins his last mandate holding out his hand to the opposition parties.

Pedro Hernández Mateo is the Mayor of Torrevieja for the 6th time consecutive after the elections were held to take up the post of Mayor which took place at the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall of Torrevieja on last Saturday 16th of June in the morning.

The Assembly Hall for the setting up of the new local municipal Cabinet began at 10:30a.m. and passed without incidents and normally, with great expectation among the many citizens who filled the Assembly Hall to be present.

The Assembly Board was presided over by Antonio Torres Caro, who, after having checked the credential cards, proceeded to name one by one the Councillors to take the votes or to pledge allegiance to their posts.

Next the new Mayor was elected, being taken this post by Pedro Hernández Mateo who, after having pledged allegiance to his post, he assured to begin his 6th mandate holding his hand to the opposition parties, although he warned that “if anyone goes for me, I’ll answer” in case the opposition insists on working with “slanderous and libellous words”.

Hernández Mateo announced that this new mandate opens a new time of changes very important for the local administration of Torrevieja which now has the category of “city of big population”.
