Rascals Christmas season

on Saturday December 17, 19.00-hrs

The Rascals, those pensioners and retirees who perform to raise much needed funds for local charities and worthy causes, were at it again this week. Their Seasonal Showtime featured the Rascals performing their Christmas show that also highlighted classic songs, all with a seasonal theme. A full house was in attendance to enjoy the fast paced musical extravaganza that this evergreen group put on in the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre in Torrevieja.

The proceeds raised from the show were all in aid of the mentally handicapped children of APANEE. A few of the children arrived during the interval to be met by Father Christmas who handed them chocolate Santas and presents to the delight of the children. The show contained many well known tunes plus a few tongue in cheek dance routines that surprised a few of the younger members of the audience, who did not expect to see such talent from the ‘old folks’ performing!

If you missed the show, don’t despair because you have another chance to see Seasonal Showtime on Saturday December 17, 19.00-hrs curtain up, at the School of Music and Culture in Los Montesinos. To reserve tickets call Sue, 966 784 874. Tickets are only €5.00 with all proceeds going to ADISMON. To date the Rascals have raised almost €110,000 for local charities and plan to continue for as long as audiences enjoy watching them perform. For those wishing to know more about joining or donating to Rascals, please contact Jill 96 672 7282 or visit their website at www.therascals.info.
