SANCTIONED A WOMAN IN PILAR DE LA HORADADA FOR CUTTING THE EARS AND THE TAIL OF HER DOG
The fine for infraction to the Municipal Ordinance for the Animal Protection, amounts to 6.010,13€ .
The Town hall of Pilar de la Horadada has imposed a new sanction for infraction to the Ordinance Police for Animal Protection. The sanction consisting of the imposition of a fine of 6.010,13 € has been imposed to Mrs. A.V.P., neighbor of Pilar de la Horadada, for “ the practice of mutilations, amputation of ears and tail, without veterinary control ” to a her dog that previously had been adopted to this citizen from the Association of Protected Animals. The facts have been qualified as very serious infraction in article 76.13 of the Ordinance. The informer showed in the declaration statement at the Local Police that on having asked for explanations on these facts Mrs. Pasat stated “the dog is mine and I have done it because I like him this way and if the APAH does not like what I have done, then I want to recover the 50€ donation to the affiliation for the adoption of the dog”. The animal was retained in police dependencies a few days and today he is already recovered in the APAH in expectation of a new adoption. Mrs. Pasat has not realized any allegations for these facts. The Town hall of Pilar de la Horadada is grateful once again for the collaboration given by the APAH; without it many people of these serious performances would remain unpunished.Rate this article

I am appalled to read such an article. It is pure insanity that this lady, for one moment, believes that she has the right to mutilate such a helpless animal which she undertook to take for through adoption. The adoption process should be revisited more carefully in order to hopefully eliminate the potential for other people to adopt pets that they are not caring for properly, and worse still, to mutilate and treat as they see fit. Do animals, like people and any other living things, not feel pain and other emotions ?. This lady deserves more than just a fine and warning. If she were to have done this to say, another person, would the penalty be the same ?.- I think not. She would most definitely be psychiatrically assessed and maybe jailed for conducting herself in such a criminal way. I wonder how she would feel if she was mutilated and had her ears and tail brutally cut off because someone out there thought that she "would look better" this way.
Thank you.
