SIGNATURES AGAINST CREMATORIUM IN TORREVIEJA

Neighbors of Las Torretas I, II and of La Torreta Florida have presented several pages of signatures against the possible place of a tanatorio-crematorium in the precincts of these urban developments.

According to press release of "Los Verdes, “ with this collection of signatures the neighbors want to show opposition and dissatisfaction before the possibility that it should be possible to construct a tanatorio - crematorium in the proximities of their housings, scarce meters from several housing developments and in an area that in high period registers a big inflow and concentration of visitors and residents. ”

The Municipal group "Los Verdes” have spoken to the Mayor requesting information about this matter and presenting a bunch of questions that will be answered in the next plenary ordinary meeting that will be held on Friday, the 30th of November 2007.

"Los Verdes" consider that “ a few facilities of this type, like the ones in a crematorium, should be located at a minimal distance of at least 2.000 meters (2 Km) to the nearest residential nucleus, to avoid the harmful effects that could stem from the activity and the inconveniences to the residents. ”
