Decrease of temperatures and snowfalls in the province of Alicante

From the Alto de la Casilla’s viewpoint, you can observe a white cloak covering the highest points of the province of Alicante.

The cold wave is here, and it arrived without previous notice. In less than 24 hours, temperatures in the province have decreased between 6 and 7 degrees, which have caused important frosts and snowfalls in different points of our province.

The Torrevieja’s thermometers have reached in the early morning even 3 and 4 degrees. To this, we can add strong wind gusts which reached a speed of 70km/hour, what increases the cold feeling.

Furthermore, as a consequence of the strong wind, the Conselleria de Gobernación (Government’s Department) maintains the pre-emergency situation due to the sea storm (orange level) which is happening in the seaside of the three provinces and which is causing waves of even 4 metres height.

The BBC says: 'Cold Snap Wreaks Havoc Across Europe.'

Yes, from Liverpool south to Alicante - Liverpool to the Ukraine. Fifteen dead in Poland. (One in Spain). -3c in England. -20c in Spain. An excruciating minus 33c in Germany.
