Top Welsh Male Voice Choir to offer concerts in Torrevieja

On 23 October 2010, the choir was thrilled to perform at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the London Welsh festival of choirs and on 23 October 2011, the first anniversary of that momentous occasion, the choir will perform in Torrevieja.

TORREVIEJA CONCERTS BY ‘CÓR MEIBON TAF are as follows:
SUNDAY 23rd October at 20.30h in the ‘Sagrado Corazon’ church (‘new church’) in Plaza de Oriente, Torrevieja. Admission is free!!
TUESDAY 25th October at 20.00h in the ‘Palacio de la Música’. Admission is free but a bucket collection in aid of AFA (Alzheimers’ Association) will be made.

“CÓR MEIIBON TAF” is directed by Robert Nicholls and will be accompanied on piano by Lowri Evans.

One of Wales’ newest male voice choirs, Cardiff based, “Côr Meibion Taf” was only formed back in April of 2004 and has already proved itself as being amongst the best male choirs from the ‘Land of Song’. Since its inception the choir has experienced a number of notable successes in competitions, including first prize at the National Eisteddfod of Wales held at Cardiff in 2008. In August 2010 they were delighted to take first prize in the overall choir competition in the National Eisteddfod at Ebbw Vale. This year, 2010, and against competition from the very best of Welsh choristers, ‘Cór Meibon Taf’ were runners up in the national contest. The 2011 national Eistedfood was, however held in the north of the principality and it was a choir from North Wales which picked up the ‘home win’.

The choir has often performed on television, has an ever busy concert schedule performing throughout Wales and beyond and remains in constant demand. As well as being highly sought after as corporate entertainment at business functions, Cȏr Meibion Taf has, on a number of occasions, performed in front of 70,000 rugby fans at the Millennium Stadium, before international matches. This coming December (2011), the choir have been invited to perform at the world famous ‘Millenuium Staduim’ before the Wales vs Australia game as part of the 130th anniversary of the Welsh Rugby Union. ‘Cór Meibon Taf’ is also dedicated to supporting the local community and regularly perform in charity concerts to the delight of their followers.
