Torregolf at font del llop

Monday 24th saw us on the 1st.tee at Font del Llop in perfect conditions.

Prior to that must say it was great to see all our buggies lined up very smart and clean supporting our Club name and logo ready to do battle with this beautiful course. All this, before the ‘rain’, however most of us did manage to get round before the clouds opened up and enjoyed the challenge this course has to offer which have to say was in excellent condition, however, a lot of trouble when on the greens which were  perfect  but very difficult to read due to being electric fast, have not been used to such fast greens for a long time. All things taken into consideration the general verdict by all for the day EXCELLENT when can we come again.

With the advert out of the way we had a full house except one who got his day wrong, that’s the trouble with getting old, every day is the same in the environment we live in, sorry Reg that you turned up for a lift one day after we played, yes FDL has been a Monday fixture this year but next year it will be on a Friday. We played our normal Stableford Competition with many other items on the way to compete in and 3 categories to share the spoils all this after we negotiated the rolling fairways, river beds, ravines, out of bounds and grasses a meter high on the edges of fairways and of course water. It has to be said a few balls were lost but GREAT, however, the scores did not show all these problems up with the results

Nearest the Pins Hole 8 Sue Owens, Hole 12 Sandra Twentyman, Hole 16 “zero”. Nearest pin 3rd.shot hole 6 John Williams and longest drive hole 18. Pauline Johnston, yes, a lady…what’s up boys know we had 4 ladies playing to-day but that’s disgraceful you must all be wimps!!
