TORREVIEJA CELEBRATES THE COLOMBUS DAY
The ASILA Association will organise a variety of events which will last three days to celebrate the Columbus day.
Next 22nd and 29th of September, at the Municipal Theatre, the II Latin Cultural Festival of the Mediterranean will be held. The ticket price will be 6 euros. The 22nd of September, the sentimental voice of Elena and Luis, from Chile, will sing a variety of popular songs. Paquito Rubio will represent Spain, playing his “rumba flamenca”, and Janela Rubio will represent Ecuador. The 29th of September, the association “Plan Sur Seine” from Argentina, will perform a theatre play called “When Dora met Picaso”, accompanied by the sound of the violin, the double bass and the large accordion playing the argentinian tango. The events to commemorate the Colombus Day will take place next 11th, 12th and 13th of October. On the 11th, at 21:30 p.m., at the Municipal Theatre, the Mexican Ballet and the Flamenco Ballet “Lo Ferro” from Murcia will offer us a wonderful show where the dancing of both countries will perfom together. The ticket price will be 5 euros. On the 12th of October, at 21:30 p.m., at the Municipal Theatre, the Mexican Ballet will take us around South America in an extraordinary dancing shoe. The ticket price will be 5 euros. On the 13th of October, the main events of the celebration of the commemoration of the Colombus Day will take place at the Nations Gardens. Free entrance. The musical shows will begin at 17:00 p.m., where several South American countries will participate with different performances, and around 21:30 p.m., the “Botones de Oro” (Golden Buttons) will be given to some public figures, local businessman/woman, and other local institutions by the ASILA association, for their support to the Latin Community in Torrevieja. After 22:30 p.m., a popular dance performing “Lázaro and his orquestra” will go on until late in the night. On the very 13th of October, multicultural stands showing a large variety of crafts from different places and countries of South America will be open to public. A tasting of typical food from Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Brasil, Colombia and so on, will be offered by the ASILA association in order to show the variety of the gastronomy of these South American countries.
