TORREVIEJA COALITION OF LEFT-WING PARTY SUGGESTS TO PUT UP THE LOCAL RATES (IBI) 50% TO ALL VACANT HOUSING

The local Coalition of Left-wing party suggests municipal technicals to issue a report in order to adapt the tax bylaws to current regulations about the local rates, setting a 5% fiscal profit and a 50% extra charge on vacant housing.

The local Coalition of Left-wing party states this is a popular demand made by more than 6.000 citizens on a street mass meeting.

The municipal Coalition of Left-wing party, IU, claims that the Municipal Cabinet passes a motion to place a lien upon speculation and accumulation of permanently uninhabited housing, as specified on the law for local tax offices.

According to what IU says, Torrevieja has more than 110.000 houses at the present time, and a good number of them are supposed to be permanently uninhabited. For this reason, IU suggests to increase the local rates bill up to 50% of extra charge.

The second measure suggested by this party is to set a 5% bonus for those who authorize the local rates (IBI) direct debit, as specified by law.
