TORREVIEJA OFFERS NEW SQUARES FOR THE MUNICIPAL PROGRAM  TOURISM SENIOR 
DESTINED FOR THE THIRD AGE

The councilman of Social Well-being, Maria Dolores Canales, has announced that
on September 1 the term of requests will be opened to choose to 1.300 squares
offered for  The months of October and November for the trips of the Municipal
Program of “Tourism Senior-2007”. The deadline for requesting one these
squares is September 15 2007.
Already,  9 trips  have been offered, ranging from seven or nine days at a
hotel with full pension  paid and included and programmed excursions  for
October and November,. The destinations to these excursions are Pontevedra
(Ribadumia) 5 trips, Palencia (Magaz de Pisuerga) 3 trips and Cantabria 5
trips.
The Town hall of Torrevieja will subsidize 65 % of the trips, from what the
price per person will range between the 75 and 86 euros. The councilman of
Social Well-being has emphasized the big success that these trips are having
since they begun to be offered in June, 2007, having already enjoyed them a
whole of 700 persons of the Third Age registered in Torrevieja.
It is a question of a municipal novel and pioneering program that tries to
offer to the registered residents of the Third Age a few trips at a very
obtainable price for his/her economy, and that thus could enjoy a few fully
deserved vacations to diverse points of the Spanish geography.
. They can benefit from the Senior Program-2007 all those citizens registered
in the city with an antiquity equal or superior to 2 years, and that have a
minimum of 65 years of age or are major pensioners of any system 60 years of
age that can take care of themselves...
The participants of the program may have as accompanists their spouses, even if
they do not have the requirements of age and pension. Also, will be able to be
accompanists of the users those who, having fulfilled 55 years of age, assuming
the expenses corresponding to the traveller’s above mentioned square.
Participants with disabled children with a grade of  discapiciation  equal or
superior to 65 %, whenever they travel in company of his or her  parent(s,)
being of same value of the rest of participants package cost.
