3.4 Richter scale earthquake

It has caused no damage at all except for the fright of those who felt it, who woke up and went out to the street. The earthquake had four replies.

A 3.4 Richter scale earthquake caught by surprise citizens of some cities and villages of the Vega Baja last night, in the early morning of the 7th of August, around 00:41 a.m.

Being warned by the National Geografic Institute of the possibility of a more severe earthquake, all security forces were ready.

This earthquake was felt in villages like Algorfa, Almoradí, Torrevieja, Guardamar del Segura, Orihuela, Santa Pola, Elche, Alicante and San Pedro del Pinatar.

The epicentre was in Los Montesinos, close to the village of Algorfa, according to the report from the Nacional Geografic Institute.

In the city of Almoradi, “the third reply was stronger than the first one, so neighbours left their homes to go to the main square frightened of a stronger one”.

I live in Daya Nueva, near Almoradi, I was awake when this quake struck, IT WAS THE 7TH NOT THE 6TH.It started with a loud bang (like a heavy lorry passing) and then windows, doors and wardrobe doors rattled for about 10-15secs. We had four after shocks, two rattled doors etc. It was very scary !!
