'telefonica' Is it just me ?

Has anyone managed to fathom out the 'libre line' offered at telefonicainenglish.com. Basic line euro 17.87 , Libre line euro 14. I know the calls are more but if you always use a card or one of the other companies for your calls then all you ever get from telefonica is your line rental bill at 17.87 + iva. Therefor why are they offering a free line where under the same conditions you would get a bill of euro 14+iva. I must be missing something. Can anyone help ???

As you say, the small print says :

PLEASE NOTE: You must spend a minimum of 14€ a month in calls. If you do not meet the minimum requirement you will still be charged 14€.

So in theory you save 3-4 euros a month. I expect it will cost you about the same in the end as you are bound to make a few calls on their line.
