Returning to Spain

We left Spain 3 years ago due to family problems but we are now looking at returning sometime in the next 9 months. The question I would like to ask is; do we need to obtain new NIEs or will our old ones still be valid. Could do without the usual performance if possible.
Looking forward to returning to our old haunts.

As far as I know your NIE lasts forever. You only need it once.

I think the early morning queue days are over anyway - it all works on an appointments system now.

Not so Rob, at Playa Flamenca you have to queue for a ticket to get a place in the queue, maybe you are right in that at this time of year it is quieter
