Default residencia cards

I do agree the new certificate is a waste really, it's not proof of ID because there is no picture, the ID cards are much better and it saves having to carry your passport, which is a bit dodgy. Is that your gripe?
It's not only the Brits is it? Another thing I don't like is having to carry all those car documents around all the time, I think if you are resident and you get stopped by the police you should have so many days to produce all your documents at the police station. I won't leave them in the car incase the car gets nicked, so have to lug them around with me, urghhh. One thing you can do instead of carrying your passport is get a copy from any notary, they put their official stamp and seal on it and that is good enough for the police, it only cost 4 euros and they do it immediately but Carrefour would not accept it, although I have heard sometimes they do??? We did get stopped the other day by the police and it was accepted.
I think you should all have a microchip fitted in your arm with every single detail, simple I think!

Cool residentia

I believe I am right in saying
the only people to hold a residencia/i.d card are the Spanish
all others have a certificate of residencia nowadays, we have had our passport copied into a credit card size and it has been accepted by a couple of places, we have also photocopied our car documents and leave a set in the car it is worrying having to carry originals around

Take care documents to a Notary have them copied and stamped by them and leave these copies in the car. Police will accept them. I did the same with my passort, then had it reduced and laminated.
