Question markets and car boot sale

hi all, was hoping one of ye might know if you can make a decent living from travelling around to markets and car boots. i know it seems like a silly question as it all depends on what your selling ,profit margin etc. maybe one of you's have a bit of experience in this area and can tell me what its like, is it a struggle or is it the case if determined enough with a good head on your shoulders you can do ok. just so ye know im in my late twenties no kids and planning my move in march. cheers.

hi i live in playa flamenca ,the car boot markets here have been closed down by the police and to trade in our local street market you have to have a licence to show to the police who check them every week. good luck

Default markets and car boot sale

What would you be thinking of selling? The markets are always busy but normally it's the same old stuff and lots of it. There is a new market that's opened up too, think it was up around Campomor? and there have been articles in the paper that it's difficult to get the licences. The British seem to think they are getting picked on by not getting the licences although there are spare pitches. Mind you, I only read the English freebie papers, perhaps it's happening to other nationalities too, don't know. The car boot sales are meant to be coming back but who knows when and if they ever will, wouldn't rely on that. I think the car boot sales got stopped because there were so many people selling new things and kinda putting the proper market traders out of business plus the fact lots of nicked things being sold.

Default thanks

thanks for that makes sense about stopping car boot sales its a pity though. do you know how they choose who gets a license is it a waiting list or do you actually have to be interviewed about what your selling and if its something that is not been sold at the market you might have a better chance of receiving the permit.

An update to this, due to the local freebie rags intervention there will be several Brits stalls later this year.

I think it is now classed as an auction, to get round recent legislation. I shall check it out tomorrow.

What is happening at the Celtic Isle? Is it only open during the day?
Was the car boot/auction on?
