That is a little controversial at present lots of us have been let down recently
I would be tempted to buy a dish and decoder at around 80 euros from Carrefour then get someone who is not afraid of heights and who knows how to use a compass to install the dish I think it faces southwest I'm not an expert BUT I can read a compass. |

Then you either need a UK address to subscribe to Sky or buy a card form a satallite company at anything from 149 euros to 200 euros and then pay the subscription (at UK prices) direct to Sky and hope they dont find out you are in spain or they will cut you off. |

Thanks for those replies but neither is really very helpful.
I can't believe that there is not a reputable sky installer that you can trust in this area. I read in the paper that sky bring in £40000000 from outside the uk are they really going to pull the plug on that? Can't wait around for Telmicro any more. Trie Torresat in the past and found them very unreliable. |

I thought this was an old post, surprised you aren't waiting to see what happens and the outcome of all this mess.

Problem with asking for a "reputable" sky installer, is really that anyone installing a sky box is helping you to break the law - Sky have no rights to be received in SPain, and state on their contracts that you can't use their sdervices outside the uk... therefore if you pay 1500 or whatever to have it all installed, and then the next week, sky find out and cut you off... then you have NOWHERE you can turn to to get your money back if you want it.
Telmicro have said they'll be back in 2 weeks... wouldnmn't it be worth waiting to see what happens there first? |

Sunshinegal, the only way for sky to know is to get your card number, how are they going to do that unless you tell them ? |

Thanks again. With regard to Telmicro we have twice this year waited for them to get their act together and here we are again with no tv and no confirmed date for reconnection. Certainly where we are people are leaving them in droves mainly because there is no reliable information re the actual problem but if they survive this I think they will be very lucky. If Torresat are still broadcasting why aren't Telmicro they were doing nothing different.
Anyway we have had enough and intend to look for another provider but not Torresat who we have found unreliable in the past. I'd still like to hear from anyone who has a satellite system in place and can recommend someone. |

Dear JOHN73
Thank you for your email regarding subscribing to Sky digital. Firstly, please let me apologise for the length of time it has taken us to answer your query. Sky retails various packages of channels (some owned by Sky, but the majority being third party channels) to viewers in the UK and Eire under the terms of agreements which we have with the rights holders for those channels. Sky does not have the right to broadcast the channels outside the UK and Eire and it is for this reason that our customer contract states that subscribers cannot take their viewing cards and receiving equipment abroad and use them to view Sky's retailed channels. One exception to this is Sky News which is currently broadcast unencrypted across Europe. I will also advise that for any further enquiry related to sky you can contact your local retail provider. Should you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me at the above email address. Kind regards Vaishali Nadkarni Customer Relations |
