We have a Acer laptop and Sony Bravia Tv. Purchased multimedia cable,VGA and now also the appropriate audio jacks. Still no sound (we have a picture alrhough occasional that goes too!) Can anyone explain how to get the laptop. connected to the TV so I can watch a film on the big screen?

Does your laptop have a graphics card with a "TV out" option/socket. You need this type of graphics card installed in order to get proper graphics/sound on the TV. Usually only high spec cards have this option.

I connected my Acer 9410 to the Tv with the cables that came with the TV.
But I had to change the screen configuration on the laptop and pick the TV monitor as the main screen instead of the laptop monitor. The TV I used was a samsung but I suppose that would be irrelevant |
